Frequently Asked Questions about Venue Rental
Please call 2834 2702 to check the availability with our staff at the Rental Department. If the availability is available, the venue will allow customers to make a preliminary reservation for two weeks (pencil mark). The venue application form and related documents must be submitted within two weeks. If the documents are not submitted on time, the reservation will be automatically cancelled.
Weekday rental schedule:
Applications can be accepted one year in advance. For example, if you want to rent on December 22, 2021 (Wednesday), the earliest you can apply is December 1, 2020. For renting on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays:
Large-scale events (those with more than 200 participants) can be accepted for application one year in advance.
Small-scale events (with less than 200 participants) can be applied for three months in advance.
example:
For large-scale programmes with more than 200 people, applications for the December 25, 2021 slot can be accepted as early as one year in advance, that is, from December 1, 2020.
For small-scale shows with less than 200 people, applications for the December 25, 2021 slot can be accepted as early as three months in advance, that is, from September 1, 2021.

After the date is approved, the client will receive a payment notice. The deposit is 20% of the total venue rental and must be paid within one month after the payment notice is issued; the balance is 80% of the total venue rental and must be paid 90 days before the event.
The payment ratio for the period rented one year ago is as follows: The deposit is 20% of the total rent and must be paid within one month after the payment notice is issued; The second deposit is 60% of the total rent and must be paid within six months before the event; The remainder is 20% of the total rent and must be paid 90 days before the event.
Once a booking has been confirmed, the dates cannot be moved unless approved by the venue manager.
Cancellation of the venue must be notified in writing 60 days before the event, and all paid venue rental fees will be forfeited.
If the event is cancelled within 60 days, the venue will forfeit its deposit, rental, service fees and license fees, and will be entitled to recover the remaining costs of the event.
The venue's office hours are: Monday to Friday 10:00-20:30, Saturday 10:00-16:30, closed on Sunday. Customers can adjust the usage time with the venue staff according to the special needs of the program.
There are no parking spaces available. If you need to transport supplies, you can use the Southorn Centre car park, which is open from 06:00 to 22:00. If you need to use the car park outside of opening hours, please apply to the venue staff in advance.
No eating or drinking is allowed in the venue. If the event requires catering services, the organizer must apply for a license from the relevant government department. After successful application and approval by the venue manager, it can be carried out within the designated area. The venue will charge additional cleaning fees depending on the actual situation.
All decorations (including brochures and posters) displayed in the venue must be submitted to the venue manager for approval at least 14 days before the event. They can only be displayed in the venue after approval. The venue will charge according to the display content, location and quantity. No brochures, posters or promotional materials may be sold or distributed in the venue without approval.
In addition to the rental application form, the event program, venue layout, insurance, and other relevant licenses must be submitted one month before the event.
Frequently Asked Questions for General Participants
No eating or drinking is allowed within the venue.
The venue does not provide locker lending service.
Photography and video recording are not allowed within the venue.
There is a water dispenser outside the event room on the 1st floor. Please bring your own water dispenser.
Please call 28342702 to contact the venue staff and come to fill out the "Lost Property Form". If the lost property is found, the venue will immediately notify the owner to claim it; the temporary storage period for general lost property is 3 months. After the temporary storage period expires, the items will be reimbursed. If the found item is valuable, the venue will hand it over to the police as soon as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions for Interest Classes
The definition of old students refers to students who are currently studying in the course. Students who have suspended one or several terms or are studying other courses (i.e. students who are not students of the class) are considered new students. Old students can register for the next course in the designated time. For details, please refer to the registration instructions - Notes Item 13.
To register for a course, you must visit the venue's ticket office to fill in the application form and pay the fee. The venue only accepts cash or cheque payment. If paying by cheque, the cheque should be made payable to "Hong Kong Playground Association".

Yes, you can. Simply submit the application form with the completed information and relevant fees. All classes are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to be a member, and there is no reservation of any kind.
Once registered, no refund application, class transfer or substitution will be accepted. If the class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or other incidents, please apply for a refund at the ticket office of the Southorn venue within 1 month from the class start date with the receipt. All interest classes do not accept sick leave/personal leave make-up classes. If the interest class needs to be suspended for any reason and the class time may be adjusted, all adjustment details will be notified to the participants as soon as possible to minimize the impact. However, participants cannot apply for a refund for this reason.
